The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad remarked on Thursday morning during the hearing of the Tosha Khana case against the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan that if the Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf surrenders, the court can order the police not to arrest him.
The court further said that 'We do not want Imran Khan's life to be in danger but there are some requirements of the law, Imran Khan has made the matter complicated by not appearing in court.'
Meanwhile, on Thursday morning, the Lahore High Court ordered the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf not to hold a meeting at Minar Pakistan on Sunday, remarking that 'you have no idea how much this nation has been disrespected in the last few months. Everyone (Government, Tehreek-e-Insaf) should solve this issue together, you guys should let the system work.'
On the other hand, while talking to BBC, Federal Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said that the government has absolutely no interest in arresting Imran Khan, but the Punjab Police is actually present outside Zaman Park to comply with court orders. He further said that Imran Khan is doing politics of chaos which is causing loss to the country.
Many people are asking what will be the impact of the developments in Pakistan's politics in the last few days?
Political commentator Hasan Askari Rizvi says that the latest developments have brought Pakistan's politics to a point where it is very difficult to say what might happen in the next few weeks.
He says, 'Pakistan's economy, politics, and law and order situation are bad. The only thing that can be predicted at this time is that this crisis will increase in the coming days. The deeper it goes, the more chaos there will be, the more unrest there will be.'
Hasan Rizvi believes that the tension between the government and the Tehreek-e-Insaaf could derail the talks with the International Monetary Fund to secure a loan, further worsening the political situation.
According to him, if Imran Khan is arrested now or in the next few days, 'elections are likely to be postponed, no one knows what may happen in Pakistan.'
Hasan Rizvi believes that 'morally and legally, Imran Khan should have appeared in the court, but this matter is not so simple, in the current situation, it will not be correct to see this rising political temperature separately from the situation. '
He claimed that Pakistan's police are completely political, and there is no tradition of arrest in such cases in Pakistan. When Imran Khan has given an undertaking that he will appear in court on March 18, then there is no need to create such a drama in Zaman Park. It's all politics. The politics of instability.'
In an interview given to BBC yesterday, Imran Khan also alleged that the Pakistani establishment is also behind making Zaman Park a battlefield.
Political commentator Rasool Bakhsh Rais says that the Zaman Park clash is the culmination of a year-long campaign by the establishment and its political allies to oust Imran Khan from Pakistani politics and destroy his party. '
But they have not been able to achieve anything, at this time the security establishment of Pakistan and all political parties are standing on one side and Imran Khan and the people of the country are on one side. This confrontation is going to benefit Imran Khan in every way and the other side will only suffer.
Rasul Bakhsh Rais says that according to him, history is repeating itself once again. This is what happened in the 1970s when all political parties sided with Martial Law Administrator General Zia-ul-Haq and Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was removed from power.
According to him, this is an important moment in the political history of Pakistan. It will determine the future of the country's politics and the role of the army in it.
Dr. Hasan Rizvi also agrees with this. He says that in this situation, the army can ask the government to exercise restraint, but it is not doing so.
"This attitude of apparent neutrality in the context of Pakistan is open support of the government," he says.
Some analysts believe that Imran Khan has destabilized the situation by not appearing in court.
Analyst Barrister Muneeb Farooq says that Imran Khan is indeed the most popular leader of the country at the moment, and his party is the closest to the people but does that make him above the law, does the country belong to him. Bow down, kneel down.'
According to him, 'this can set an example that if a leader has the support of the people, he can stand with his supporters despite the court warrant and say that he will not bow down and prove the country helpless. Will do.'
"This is a decisive moment for Pakistan," says Muneeb.
He said that what is happening to Imran Khan is happening due to disobedience of court orders. The principle of a non-bailable warrant is clear. When a judge wants to produce an accused person in court, he does not go to arrest him himself, for that he uses the power of the state.
"If the police go to fulfill their legal responsibility and are prevented from doing their job, the state can stand behind it with all its might and use its full force."
However, senior journalist Hamid Mir believes that a group of ardent supporters of Imran Khan and leaders of Tehreek-e-Insaaf Pakistan is putting obstacles in Imran's arrest.
"They don't trust the Islamabad police, which is notorious for lawlessness. What did he do with Imran Khan's colleague Shehbaz Gul? He was arrested from Islamabad but then handed over to someone else.'
Hamid Mir has claimed concerning some senior sources of PTI that many leaders of the party were willing to appear in the court of Imran Khan but Imran Khan's ardent supporters and few leaders are not allowing it.
Pakistan's Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that he will teach the former prime minister a lesson and Hamid Mir believes that this has also given Imran Khan's supporters an excuse to get angry.
The PTI claims that the police attacked its supporters, but Pakistan's Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has accused Imran Khan of spreading chaos and bringing the country to the brink of civil war.
In Islamabad, Information Minister Maryam said that "the police did not have bullets, they were attacked by groups of supporters of Imran Khan, they are using women and children as human shields".
He claimed that 65 policemen were injured in clashes outside Imran Khan's house in Lahore. Maryam Aurangzeb also said that now it is the test of the judiciary.
He said that the government has nothing to do with the arrest of Imran Khan, the courts have issued warrants for him in various cases and the police are following the court orders.
He further said that if the courts had issued warrants against him for past violations, the situation would not have been like this today. Must behave.'
On the other hand, Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif says that the police controlled the situation in Zaman Park very patiently so that there was no loss of life, otherwise it would not have been too difficult for the police to arrest Imran Khan. He claimed that Imran Khan wants to throw dead bodies to shine his politics.
